Long overdue

It has been a long while... I was going into a transition period a year or so ago... in which I had to stop trying to do so many things at once, and frustrating myself when I could not keep up with any of them to my satisfaction... Part of my New Year's resolutions is to dive into this blogging thing a little bit more in the upcoming year... I need to find a creative outlet... I can't suppress all my creative inspiration, desires and ideas... little by little I will be easing back into it.... I am hopefull for the New Year - I have gone through so many changes, I have grown, and I am still growing... learing and moving forward...

It's so easy to loose sight of the beautiful details life has to offer sometimes....

I've had a tumultuous beginning of the year, but every day I try and find things that inspire me and make me smile..I hope to invest more time on this blog as a way to remind myself about the good things in life and not focus so much on the problems or negativity this life can bring sometimes... the details are what keep me going...so I will try and document even the most mundane detail... so I can look back and smile...

I really wanted to try this project so I researched online tutorials on how to make a Diaper Cake for an upcoming baby shower I was invited to. Some tutorials were good some not so much but I found this one which I thought was simple and straight forward. http://www.babyshowerstuff.com/diapercakes.html?utm_source=youtube&utm_me...

I bought two packages of newborn diapers- actually one size up, because the newborn ones only fit for a small window of time... and the ribbon, flowers and rattle.. I was able to shape the cake and work through the tutorial for this end result... well, almost -I added a base with a white doily slightly larger than the bottom layer and it gave it a finished look.  The possibilities are endless you can add all sorts of trinkets and toiletries, teddy bears and receiving blankets.

I really enjoyed making it especially because it's in tune with my tag line and everything I try to do... It's not so much the gift per say.... but it's all in the details...
